Hideo Kojima’s DEATH STRANDING Doc Revealed The Game Was Made in Reaction to Donald Trump and Brexit

DEATH STRANDING

Hideo Kojima‘s new game Death Stranding will be released later this week and I’m so excited about it. There’s a lot of activity and buzz circling this game because it looks wonderful and it has an insane and mysterious setting and story. While we wait for the game to be released, check out this documentary that gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how the game was made.

The doc came with the following notes:

Death Stranding is the first game from legendary game creator Hideo Kojima’s new studio – one of the industry’s most famous and influential characters, described as the Spielberg of gaming.

Our cameras have world exclusive behind the scenes access to Kojima Productions in the final days of the game’s production.

It’s a science fiction title that Kojima tells us was made as a reaction to Donald Trump and Brexit.

He claims it could change how players from across the world interact in future, and the gaming community is hoping for something truly innovative.

Filmed over three days at the studio – this exclusive documentary gains a unique insight into the unorthodox methods of one of gaming most successful people, finds out more about the influences shaping this mysterious game and ahead of its release and asks – can it really live up to the hype surrounding it?

There’s definitely a lot of great and interesting things to see and learn about the game.

Norman Reedus plays Sam Porter Bridges, who is said to no longer be a Strand, but he is sent on a mission to complete a task nobody else is able to accomplish. This will lead to re-establishing the United Cities of America (UCA) and helping rebuild the country.

Check out the the synopsis:

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.

The game stars Mads Mikkelsen as Cliff, who is a researcher who talks to a weird baby in a pod. He also plays the role of a badass leader of a squadron of skeletal soldiers. The game also stars Lea Seydoux as Fragile, Margaret Qualley as Mama, Guillermo del Toro as Deadman, Nicolas Winding Refn as Heartman, Tommy Earl Jenkins as Die-Hardman, Troy Baker as Higgs, and Lindsay Wagner as Amelie.

Death Stranding will be released on November 8th for PlayStation 4.
