Martin Freeman (Fargo, Sherlock, The Hobbit) is joining Tina Fey and Margot Robbie in Paramount Pictures’ Taliban Shuffle, via The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is based on Kim Barker’s wartime memoir, which tells of Barker’s arrival as a fish out of water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence, and the promiscuous war-correspondent culture.
The trade adds that Freeman will play Fey’s unexpected love interest, a dedicated Scottish photojournalist. Robbie is a competing and hard-core on-air reporter.
