Ridley Scott is Planning For At Least Four More Alien Movies

Covenant

20th Century Fox wants more Alien movies. Speaking with Fandango, director Ridley Scott reveals that, as long as audiences come out for his Alien: Covenant when it hits theaters May 19, he got more movies planned for the future.

“There will be another one before we kind of literally and logically, clockwise, back into the rear back the head of [the original] ‘Alien’,” says Scott. “…If this is successful, and then the next one, and then there will definitely be three more.”

Scott even mysteriously dropped the title Alien: Awakening as a story that’s set in Prometheus and Covenant. Will a Covenant prequel be the next film in the Alien movies series? Check back for updates as they become available.

Alien: Covenant offers a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Covenant connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo), Amy Seimetz , Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco.

Alien: Covenant will open in theaters on May 19.
