BBC Orders a Season 2 of the show despite is gory script and visuals.
A very brilliant show to start with and it features deep story line and gripping characters from the Jack The Ripper to the very Brainy and disturbed detective .
It all works. Although Ripper Street does move at the slow pace characteristic of most British dramas but it is one of the best TV Packages Characters, Story and the enviroment works very well, every scene and every line has meaning, nice direction and production. There is blood but no suspense or mystery there cast is good but don’t compare it with sherlock.
It’s a Victorian drama set in the East End of London in 1889, during the aftermath of the “Ripper” murders. The action centers around the notorious H Division – the police precinct from hell – which is charged with keeping order in the chaotic streets of White chapel.
Ripper Street explores the lives of characters trying to recover from the Ripper’s legacy, from crimes that have not only irretrievably altered their lives, but the very fabric of their city. At the drama’s heart our detectives try to bring a little light into the dark world they inhabit. (Source: BBC)

None the less It is well-written and certainly well-acted, with plot and psychological twists as numerous and tantalizing as the streets on which they occur.
