STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT II Free Content Update Coming Out Today

Star Wars: Battlefront II

Star Wars: Battlefront II has released its final content update. After a very rocky start, Battlefront II has given fans with a fun and pleasant experience and 25 free content updates that produced new levels, characters, and a lot to the game. Well, the new Battle on Scarif update that went live today will be the last of these updates. In a blog post about the update, creative director Dennis Brännvall said:

Looking beyond April, we’re transitioning to a phase where the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events such as Double XP and more, and game support will carry this broad and rich Star Wars gaming experience into the future. This means that we’re moving away from delivering regular content updates. As the game lives on with the players and our community, we’re looking forward to hearing your stories for years to come.

So, what does this last content update bring for fans? Well, the Age of Rebellion is being brought to the Supremecy and Instant Action modes providing for battles to take place on Hoth, Tatooine, Yavin 4, Death Star II, and Scarif. It should be seen that these battles will be restricted to the ground phase as the military inequality between the Rebels and the Empire is so grand and a couple of maps don’t really provide for capital ships. However, fans will be able to pilot starfighters in some locations.

In addition, players will be able to take the action to Scarif and Crait in the Heroes and Villains game modes; play cooperatively on the MC85 Star Cruiser, First Order Star Destroyer, and Scarif; and even play coop offline with AI enemies.

The last piece of the update comes with new appearances. Three of these are based on The Rise of Skywalker, including “Rey wielding her yellow lightsaber, Kylo Ren wearing his reforged mask with the hood up, and Emperor Palpatine tie it all together with his newest, menacing set of robes.” If you like Rey’s hooded look, you’ll want to reveal the mystery on Takodana. Lastly, if you want Darth Maul to have his mechanical legs, simply kill 5,000 enemies as the Zabrak Sith to unlock his Old Master form.
