In the 1982 gambling comedy Lookin’ to Get Out, Jolie made her acting debut alongside her father, with whom she is rumored to have a problematic relationship. After Jolie’s rise to popularity, they worked together again on the action movie Tomb Raider in 2001, which was also a special project. Jolie played an archaeologist in the movie, which was based on the well-known video game franchise, who had to race against time and battle bad guys to reclaim potent ancient treasures. Her deceased father, Lord Richard Croft, who was portrayed by Voight, informs her of the Illuminati’s plans.

It only made logical that Ben Stiller would collaborate with his parents given that he is the son of two legendary comedians Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller. Ben chose his father to play Maury Ballstein in his feature film debut, Zoolander.

On the set of Maleficent, a 2014 fantasy picture, the crew encountered a minor snag. Angelina Jolie’s costume was so terrifying to children that they couldn’t get through a scene. So they cast Jolie’s daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, as young Aurora.

Colin Hanks’ first role was as a page in That Thing You Do!, directed by his father Tom Hanks. They reunited on screen a decade later for The Great Buck Howard. Colin portrays the main character, and Tom plays Colin’s father in a supporting part.

In the 2003 movie Sylvia, Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter Blythe Danner depicted their mother-daughter relationship. But it was for the stage production of The Seagull that they collaborated for the first time. Blythe spoke with Gwyneth about the situation and the harsh love she gave during the Goop podcast. “It came so damn easy to you and I thought you had to sweat blood and tears to give a great performance and you never did,” Blythe shared. “I wish I had recognized that. I wish I had recognized your otherness and embraced it. You know, I could cry about the fact that I didn’t.”

Moore and Willis’ mother-daughter connection has also been adapted for the big screen. In the 1996 comedy-drama film Striptease, Willis played the on-screen child of Erin Grant, Moore’s stripper character. Willis also had a brief part in the famous coming-of-age picture, Now and Then, in which he played the younger version of Moore’s character’s little sister.
