Australia is burning by bushfires that spread across the country as the annual bushfire season took an unforeseen and drastic turn. Unfortunately, so far an estimated 8.4 million hectares were lost to the fires, alongside 2,500 buildings. The fires took lives of 25 people (as of 5 January 2020) and there are more losses of life as it is feared that an estimated billion animals were killed due to starvation and loss of habitat caused by the bushfires.
