FOLLOW: @MovieFacts 🍿 CONT’D: The film is adapted from Stephen King’s novella, The Body, which was inspired by his own childhood. ℹ️ MY TAKE: Stand By Me is a very special film. I probably first watched it when I was the same age as the kids in the film, so I identified with the relationship dynamics and humour between them. It can be so light and funny one minute, and then hit you in your gut with the cold reality of life the next. It is without doubt the best coming-of-age movie ever made, and is in my top 10 films of all-time. 🤔 YOUR TAKE: Have you seen Stand By Me? What did you think? What’s your favourite film adaptation of Stephen King’s work? 🧐 COMMUNITY: Thank you for the like, comment and follow. FOLLOW: @MovieFacts 🍿 CONT’D: Crispin Glover sued but it never went to court, as he received an out of court settlement. ℹ️ MY TAKE: The producers of the BTTF franchise I rightfully lauded for making one of the best trilogies ever. That said, using someone’s likeness without their permission is taking an absolute liberty. Taking his likeness, and creating a mask for another actor to use is frankly unbelievable. I’m with Glover on this one. 🤗 YOUR TAKE: Did you realise they used a different actor that wore prosthetics? 🤔 COMMUNITY: Thank you for the like, comment and follow. FOLLOW: @MovieFacts 🍿 CONT’D: Spirited Away has a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 96% score on Metacritic. ℹ️ MY TAKE: I was totally awestruck by the animation, and the score in Spirited Away. And for the most part, I found it strangely therapeutic to watch. Unfortunately, I think it was undone by the unorthodox storytelling. So while I think it stimulates the imagination, and is one of the most unique films I’ve ever watched, I can’t agree that it as a ‘masterpiece’. 🤗 YOUR TAKE: What did you think of Spirited Away? What other Studio Ghibli films would you recommend? 🤔 COMMUNITY: Thank you for the like, comment and follow.
