With the announcement of Xbox Series X, Xbox has launched its new Optimized for Xbox program. This is a program that will enable developers to make an already released game to be re-released or a brand new game to brag about taking full use of the hardware in the Xbox Series X. Each game that is part of the program will have a badge. According to Xbox, this will imply importance to some degree:
When you hear a game has been Optimized for Xbox Series X, you’ll know that the developer has either natively designed or fully rebuilt their game to take full advantage of the unique capabilities of our most powerful console ever.
Games featuring the Optimized for Xbox Series X badge can showcase anything from virtually eliminating load times via the Xbox Velocity Architecture, heightened visuals and hardware-accelerated DirectX raytracing powered by our custom, next generation GPU, to steadier and often higher framerates up to 120fps.
Each game will change in what it takes advantage of on the Xbox Series X, so results may be different from game to game. However, it is excellent that developers will be able to make new games feel new. Xbox has announced 22 games so far that will be Optimized for Xbox. This list is expected to increase in the coming months till the Xbox Series X will hit the market this holiday season.
