Game On – Most Anticipated Games of 2023
The promise of fresh game releases for next year is already bursting at the seams. 2023 offers it all, from daring new single-player releases to competitive games for couples. But, of course, we wouldn’t be your go-to source for gaming news and entertainment if we didn’t have strong feelings about what we’re most thrilled about. So, we will get straight into things and offer our top seven most highly anticipated games of 2023.
1. One Piece Odyssey
Bandai Namco is working on the most ambitious One Piece game we’ve seen. It’s a turn-based RPG that puts you in command of Monkey D. Luffy and The Straw Hat Pirates as they embark on a spectacular journey set in the larger One Piece universe. One Piece Odyssey was created to commemorate the franchise’s 25th anniversary, so expect it to kick off 2023 in style.
2. Deliver Us Mars
Sequel to the award-winning Deliver Us The Moon, Deliver Us Mars is an evocative sci-fi adventure that immerses you in the life of an astronaut. Explore new territories on a high-stakes expedition to recapture the ARK colony ships stolen by the enigmatic Outward. Humanity is on the verge of destruction ten years after the Fortuna mission. Following a mystery distress message from Mars, Earth’s youngest astronaut Kathy Johanson joins the Zephyr and its crew on one final mission: to recover the ARK colony ships taken by the enigmatic Outward and thereby assure the human race’s survival.
Starfield, Bethesda’s next big game, was set to be released in November. However, Starfield and Arkane Studio’s Redfall were postponed into 2023 just before Xbox and Bethesda’s Summer Games Showcase. But what was displayed in the game looked really fantastic. Bethesda will prove why they’re one of the most beloved RPG studios, as Starfield is a gigantic world waiting to be explored. Starfield may be the space game many fans have been waiting for, with many character options for roleplay and the chance to collect a spacecraft crew.
4. Dead Space
EA’s choice to terminate Visceral Games just to resurrect the Dead Space franchise a few years later is obviously controversial. Still, the resurrection of such an iconic horror series must be applauded. Few games have provided as many thrills and chills as Isaac Clarke’s trek through the Ishimura, and this enhanced edition may be just as exciting. Dead Space is being rebuilt from the bottom up for this remake, with an improved audio and visual experience, rather than simply being the original edition with a new coat of paint. The level design is also being enhanced to make the whole of Ishimura an explorable playspace rather than only restricting certain regions to specific chapters.
5. Skull & Bones
Skull and Bones is one of the numerous games in this genre. However, this 2023 release could provide fans with an intriguing experience. It’s not simply a game about the difficulties and tribulations of piracy; it also has a strange and ghostly premise that will keep gamers on their toes.
Final Fantasy XVI
The sixteenth installment of the Final Fantasy franchise has been eagerly anticipated by innumerable fans and followers of the brand. Square Enix developed and published this PlayStation 5 exclusive, bringing a new spin on the JRPG genre. Final Fantasy XVI will likely break records in the coming year, thanks to 4K visuals, silky FPS, and a slew of other next-gen features. It is set to be released in mid-2023.
Insomniac’s 2018 Spider-Man game received positive critical reviews and immediately established itself as one of the best modern superhero games available, implying that a sequel is unavoidable. Its captivating, sincere tale was commended for paying tribute to the character’s Marvel Comics mythos, the traversal was utterly liberated, and the combat was thrillingly acrobatic. That gives Spider-Man 2 a lot to live up to, especially since Mile Morales put the spotlight on the new titular Spider-Man. The reveal trailer promises a thrilling battle against Venom and Kraven the Hunter, and gamers will experience this new adventure on the PlayStation 5 sometime in 2023.
