80s Talented Movie Poster Artist Enzio Sciotti Passed Away

Enzo Sciotti is a master when it comes to making movie posters, and anyone who spent time in a video rental store looking at posters and VHS covers— mostly in the horror genre—will instantly be able to recognize his work, even if you do not know him by name.

He was born in 1944 in Italy, and with a career that is spread across decades, Sciotti’s bold style is nonetheless synonymous with the 1980s (and early 90s), where he was the artist behind covers for everything from The Evil Dead 2 to Fortress to The Blood of Heroes to Maximum Overdrive to American Ninja 2. He was 76 years old.
