There have been many attempts to get a BioShock movie made, so it’s thrilling that it’s ultimately going to happen! All of the other projects just never made it out of the development stage for various different reasons.
BioShock is set in Rapture, a large underwater city planned and constructed in the 1940s by individualist business magnate Andrew Ryan, who wanted to create a utopia for society’s elite to flourish outside of government control and “petty morality.”
The game is heavily influenced by steampunk and because of that, the movie is sure to make for a visually remarkable film. We’ll have to wait and see how this turns out.
