Actor Campbell Scott is joining the cast of the Jurassic World sequel, Jurassic World: Dominion, as a character from the original Jurassic Park movie. In the 1993 movie, the character Dodgson was played by Cameron Thor.
Scott will be taking on the role of Dodgson if you don’t remember he was the guy that met with Nedry (Wayne Knight) and gave him the can of Barbasol to store the stolen dinosaur embryos. When Nedry dies in the movie, the Barbasol can is left in the mud. So maybe that comes back into play in the upcoming movie, but after all this time can the embryos survive? Well, we will see in the upcoming movie.
In Michael Crichton‘s original Jurassic novel, Dr. Lewis Dodgson was the head of product development at genetics company BioSyn, a rival of InGen. Dodgson also played a huge part in Crichton’s sequel, The Lost World, though the character did not comeback in Steven Spielberg’s 1997 sequel.
Collider reports that in the Jurassic World: Dominion, “Dodgson has been promoted to CEO of Biosyn Genetics, but only time will tell whether the character proves to be the threequel’s big villain. Either way, Dodgson’s reemergence may serve as the catalyst for the return of the franchise’s three original heroes, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), all of whom will have sizable roles in Dominion.”
Scott is a good actor, and with the return of the other original cast members, this is going to be a totally epic Jurassic movie!
