Official airline for the Hobbit land, Air New Zealand has gone all out to celebrate the third and final film in “The Hobbit” trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Stars Elijah Wood and Sir Peter Jackson, with cameos by Sylvester McCoy, Dean O’Gorman and Weta Workshop co-founder Sir Richard Taylor, the airline’s new safety video, directed by Taika Waititi, is called “The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made.”
Air New Zealand head of global brand development Jodi Williams said the airline was proud to be “the official airline of Middle-earth”.
“We’re confident our final Hobbit-inspired onboard safety video will delight fans as much as the first one and inspire even more people to consider a visit to Middle-earth,” she said.
The national carrier had used the films to drive a distinct marketing campaign that featured branded aircraft and Hobbit-inspired content.
“Air New Zealand has created yet another fantastic video to celebrate The Hobbit films.I had a lot of fun on the set with Taika and the team and look forward to seeing the video on board,” Sir Peter Jackson said.
This final battle brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice.
