If you are a fan of horror then you won’t find anyone better than Alfred Hitchcock. This interview is almost 40 years old, but it seems not a lot of Horror directors today have heard it.
In the interview, Hitchcock says that public love “toe in the water,” fear with a purpose. He mentions people’s love of roller coasters and how we love to scare ourselves riding them while together blocking out that a slight failure could mean our instantaneous deaths. He also mentions one of his past films where he discovers the hard way what happens when you introduce fear with resolving, and how it was a misunderstanding in his filmmaking. This is a fascinating interview and a must-watch for the fans of the horror genre.
