Exciting news for fans of the Alien franchise! The official Alien Twitter account recently shared an update on the upcoming Alien film, which was revealed during the online event, Alien Day, hosted by 20th Century Films. Director Fede Alvarez, known for his work on 2013’s Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, provided a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the new film.
In the picture shared on social media, we get our first look at one of the sets of the film. The set looks ominous and eerie, featuring a dark and shadowy atmosphere that is typical of the Alien universe. In the foreground, we can see the infamous Facehugger creature, which is one of the most terrifying aspects of the franchise. For those unfamiliar, the Facehugger lays eggs inside their unsuspecting victims to create new xenomorphs, which are the iconic and deadly extraterrestrial species featured in the Alien movies.
The return of the Facehugger creature suggests that the upcoming Alien film will continue to explore the terrifying and suspenseful elements that have made the franchise so beloved by fans. Additionally, with Fede Alvarez at the helm, we can expect a fresh and unique perspective on the Alien universe.
Although details on the plot and release date of the new Alien film are still under wraps, this behind-the-scenes glimpse is enough to generate excitement and anticipation for what is to come. Fans of the franchise can rest assured that the new film is in good hands and will deliver the scares and thrills that we have come to expect from the Alien universe.
Happy #alienday everybody!

Details regarding the next Alien film are being kept under wraps. However, it has been confirmed that this upcoming film will be a standalone project and will not be related to any of the previous entries in the franchise. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter back in March, the film will focus on a younger group of space colonists who find themselves trapped on a remote station that has been overrun by a dangerous xenomorph infestation.
The movie’s cast includes Cailee Spaeny, known for her roles in “Devs” and “Bad Times at the El Royale,” David Jonsson, who has appeared in “Industry” and “Rye Lane,” Spike Fearn from “Aftersun” and “Tell Me Everything,” Alieen Wu from “Closing Doors,” and Archie Renaux, who has starred in “Morbius” and “Voyagers.”
It is important to note that this film will not continue the storyline established by Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant” films, which starred Michael Fassbender as the rogue android David. Despite “Alien: Covenant” earning over $240 million at the global box office, plans for a third film in that particular storyline were scrapped due to the lukewarm reception to the second movie. As a result, the story arc surrounding David’s character remains unresolved.
In addition to the standalone film, a new television series set in the Alien universe is currently in development. Created by Noah Hawley, the mastermind behind the critically acclaimed “Fargo” anthology series, the show will be set on future Earth and will explore the effects of late-stage capitalism and social class conflict, as well as a xenomorph infestation that only serves to exacerbate things.
Aside from the film and television projects, the Alien franchise has also been thriving in the world of comics and video games. The latest installment in the gaming world is “Alien: Dark Descent,” which will see a squad of colonial marines attempting to survive against a dangerous xenomorph infestation. Recently, IGN previewed the game after getting some hands-on time with it, generating excitement among fans of the franchise.
