Cyberpunk 2077 will come in different packages like all the games out there, including a collector’s edition and also preorder edition, both including lots of extras. But none of the editions, give you anything you can use when you start roaming around Night City. When asked about it on Twitter, CD Projekt Red revealed that in-game bonuses were specifically committed.
“No, we don’t do that,” the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account said. “Every person who will buy the game gets exactly the same in-game content doesn’t matter if they buy it in preorders, on release date or 2 years later.” The exchange was posted on Reddit.
Spending some cash before it hit the stores won’t get you any special items, then, but it also means that there won’t be special editions that deliver in new items or missions in the future. We know that there will be DLC and more expansions coming, though expect the later releases to be free.
CD Projekt Red took the same approach with The Witcher 3, releasing lots of DLC, full with new missions, for all gamers. Only the expansions were sold, which could be bought individually, with the expansion pass bundled with the Game of the Year Edition.
