Ad Astra is one of my most anticipated movies since I watched the first trailer. The visuals are striking and the story is exactly what I wanted to see. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, the team behind the movie has released this brilliantly shot featurette integrating the two.
The thing that made me fall in love with space exploration films is the always present sense of danger around every corner. There is no AAA to help you out if your vehicle breaks down. A little problem can turn into a life-threatening issue in the blink of an eye. I can’t wait to see this movie for sure.
Ad Astra follows astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) as he searches the outer limits of space in search of his father (Tommy Lee Jones). What he finds in space may change human existence. The film is directed by James Gray (The Lost City of Z, We Own The Night), and also stars Liv Tyler, Donald Sutherland, and Ruth Negga.
Ad Astra will hit theaters on September 20th, 2019.
