Apple is expanding its TV+ with some new content. It started by revealing Central Park, an animated musical comedy series from the creators of Bob’s Burgers, Loren Bouchard, BB producer Nora Smith and Frozen’s Josh Gad. The series will show a family who lives in a castle in New York City’s fabulous park while holding off the pressure from an heiress who wants to turn it into condos.
The company is planning to release for the summer of this year. It features a star-studded cast with voice-overs from Hamilton alumni Daveed Diggs and Leslie Odom Jr., Kristen Bell, Tituss Burgess, Kathryn Hahn, and Stanley Tucci.
Steven Spielberg’s anthology TV show Amazing Stories which will air on March 6th, while the luxury housing doc series Home comes on April 17th. A Chris Evans thriller which is named Defending Jacob will stream on April 24th. While Apple’s recently released Dear… documentary series hots on June 5th. And Apple’s first UK series, comedy Trying, airs on May 1st.
Meanwhile, Apple is also renewing the early shows with new seasons, ordering second seasons for both Home After Dark as well as its gaming-themed Mythic Quest. Neither shows has streamed yet, but the streaming service needs the extra content and fast.
