Brianna Olivas took her phone to the Sprint store where she bought it from as it would not turn on, the device passed all of Sprint’s diagnostic tests.
She then took it home and plugged it overnight to charge the device, her boyfriend unplugged the device in the morning and put it on the dresser, Here how she described the incident.
I was asleep with my phone charging next to me, my boyfriend grabbed the phone and put it on the dresser. He went to the bathroom… and from the corner of his eye he saw my phone steaming and [heard] a squealing noise. By the time he got over to the phone it had already caught fire, he quickly grabbed the phone and threw it in the bathroom… as soon as he threw [it] in the restroom, it blew up and more smoke started coming out of the phone.
