Apple TV+ is getting into the behind-the-scenes drama of morning shows with their upcoming new series The Morning Show. Check out this new trailer to share with you today that gives our first look at the upcoming TV series, The new series stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell as TV reporters who are dealing with some huge changes in their lives and careers.
Some of the scenes seem familiar, as the trailer begins with Aniston’s morning show host reporting that her co-anchor (Carell) was fired over sexual misconduct allegations. This is comparable to the whole Matt Lauer scandal at NBC. This is the event that starts off a series, and it follows Aniston’s character as she finds herself being frightened with the end of her career after the appearance of a rising star played by Witherspoon.
The series also has an excellent supporting cast Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Janina Gavankar, Desean K. Terry, Jack Davenport, and Nestor Carbonell.
Here’s the synopsis for The Morning Show:
What happens when the people you trust to tell the truth prove themselves to be dishonest? The Morning Show follows the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand. The Morning Show stars Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Emmy winner Jennifer Aniston and Golden Globe winner Steve Carell in a high-stakes drama that pulls back the curtain on the morning news.
The Morning Show is set to air on Apple TV+ this fall.
