Rian Johnson when he was directing Knives Out gets to know something unusual about Apple and one of the requirements they have about people using iPhones in movies. Apple will not allow baddies or villains in movies to use iPhones!
Johnson released this little piece of news during an interview with Vanity Fair in which he said:
“I don’t know if I should say this or not. Not ‘cause it’s like lascivious or anything, but because it’s going to screw me on the next mystery movie that I write. But forget it, I’ll say it, it’s very interesting. Apple will let you use iPhones in movies, but, and this is very pivotal if you’re ever watching a mystery movie, bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera.”
He then jokingly adds:
“Every single person who has a bad guy in their movie and wants it to be a secret wants to murder me right now.”
This is actually true, it is reported a few times in the past as well! Now, all we have to do is to watch which characters are using an iPhone and which characters aren’t! iPhones are a big part of the modern world, so filmmakers will always include them in the movies they make that are set in the present day.
This is one shocking piece of news regarding one of the strict rules Apple has that moviemakers have to live by to use their merchandise.
