Written and directed Joss Whedon, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron will be partially filmed on location at Fort Bard in Northern Italy, and now BadTaste.it has even more details on the upcoming shoot.
The site reports that Fort Bard is not the only location that the sequel will set up shop as it will also use the nearby municipalities of Aosta, Donnas, Pont-Saint-Martin and Verrès while on location. In addition, the reported crew for the shoot is said to be up to 1,500 people, including 500 extras, with casting expected to begin shortly.
Reports on the location also note that the Italian Film Commission submitted location proposals to Marvel back in May of 2013, meaning this has been in the works for some time.
Production is expected to begin on the sequel this March which will see Robert Downey jr. and many others from the Marvel cinematic universe once again reprising their roles. They will be joined by some newcomers to the cast, including Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Spader and Thomas Kretschmann.
