The winners for the 2023 Baftas have been announced with Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front picking up seven awards — including best picture, director, and adapted screenplay — and The Banshees of Inisherin and Elvis both taking home four awards.
Martin McDonagh picked up a best original screenplay for Banshees as well as Outstanding British Film. and best-supporting actor and actress for Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon respectively.
Austin Butler won best actor for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, while Cate Blanchett won best actress for her role in Todd Field’s Tár.
The winners were announced at the EE Baftas on Sunday, 19 February, which were hosted by Richard E Grant at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.
For the first time, the ceremony included a live broadcast to reveal four category winners after previously being recorded and then broadcast on the same day.
