John Turturro’s upcoming Big Lebowski spinoff film teaser trailer is released, The movie is called The Jesus Rolls. It’s certainly a strange trailer for sure, but I was waiting for this for a very long time.
The Coen Brothers never planned on making a Big Lebowski film again, but they gave Turturro their permission to use the character and however he wants to make the movie. Turturro directs and stars in the film, which he’s been working on since 2016 and it will hit theaters this month.
The film is based on Turturro’s character, Jesus Quintana. It’s been told that Jesus Rolls is part Big Lebowski spinoff, a part remake of Bertrand Blier’s 1974 movie Going Places, which was the original name for the movie.
“a trio of misfits whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen.”
Starring Bobby Cannavale, Christopher Walken, Audrey Tautou, Jon Hamm, Susan Sarandon, and Pete Davidson.
The actor said:
“It’s a bit of a racy movie. It shows how stupid men are. That’s what the movie is kinda about – the women are the stronger, more together characters. I had to tweak it a little bit but now I feel really good about it. It’s basically an exploration of Jesus getting out of jail. It’s a comedy but a very human comedy.”
It will hit theaters on February 28, 2020.
