Check out this awesome new trailer released by the BBC for their upcoming new Dracula series, and it looks freaking good! I love what I have seen the brand new first trailer; it’s got a spectacularly horrific vibe. I guess it’s not shocking that the series looks so genuine, after all, it comes from the team of Sherlock, Steven Moffat, and Mark Gatiss.
The series is based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, and Claes Bang (The Girl in the Spider’s Web) is taking on the role of the mythological vampire and he did an amazing job with it. When previously talking about being cast in the role of Dracula, Bang said:
“I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Dracula, especially when the script is in the hands of the incredible talents of Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and the team responsible for Sherlock. I’m so excited that I get to dig into this iconic and super-interesting character. Yes, he’s evil, but there’s also so much more to him, he’s charismatic, intelligent, witty and sexy. I realize that there’s a lot to live up to with all the amazing people that have played him over the years, but I feel so privileged, to be taking on this incredible character.”
The story for the TV series is set in 1897 and orbits around the “blood-drinking count from Transylvania who sets his sights on Victorian London.”
Dracula consists of three 90-minute episodes and will air on BBC One in the UK and Netflix for the rest of the world.
