USA Today unveiled the first look at Stephen Lang in the role of the Blind Man in Don’t Breathe 2. The first movie was a fun movie to see with a theater packed with people because everyone was loving the movie.
Here’s the synopsis:
The Blind Man has been hiding out for several years in an isolated cabin and has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a devastating house fire. Their quiet life together is shattered when a group of criminals kidnap the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.
So… the sequel will turn the Blind Man into some kind of hero? He is raising a young girl and protecting her from bad guys. But, he is a bad guy! After that first movie, he’s not the kind of character that you want to root for. I’m not sure what to think about this.
The sequel was directed by Rodo Sayagues and he co-wrote the script with original director Fede Alvarez. Producer Sam Raimi previously talked about the sequel, saying, “It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard. I’m not kidding.” Alvarez also talked previously about the sequel, saying:
“The challenge obviously is we just don’t want to do the same movie again and just have 2 in it. We’ll feel so embarrassed if we do that. At first our reaction when they told us was no no no no no that’s Hollywood, that’s the devil pushing us to do something just because we can. And then we had an idea that we got really excited about, we won’t tell you what it is, it’ll spoil the whole thing.
“It’s exciting to see a character you want to see more out of it. At least I do. I’d love to see the blind man on the screen do some other things. What’s going to happen with him in his life?”
