There’s an awesome Back to the Future Part 2 reference that was discovered recently in Avengers: Endgame by a fan. While the movie added references in the dialogue for the movie such as Scott Lang says, “So you’re saying Back to the Future is bullshit?”, there’s a visible reference as well.

Redditer byu/malechite pointed out the visual connections between a scene including Rocket Raccoon in battle in Avengers: Endgame‘s and the Jaws 19 hologram attacking Marty McFly in Back to the Future: Part 2. Watch the comparison video below:

This definitely seems like it was an intended reference, it’s completely spot on and I like it! That’s such an unexpected reference that I would have never discovered had it not been pointed out to me like this.

When talking about the Back to the Future references in Endgame, Back to the Future co-writer and producer Bob Gale said to The Hollywood Reporter:

“I was delighted to learn from Endgame that all of the Marvel superheroes are fans of Back to the Future. I knew our movie had been seen in almost every part of our world, but I had no idea we’d been playing in other parts of the multi-verse too. Now I need to find out if we’re owed some money from those multi-verse theatrical runs, and if not, why my contract didn’t cover those territories!”
