Colin Farrell Might Join TRUE DETECTIVE Season 2

Colin Farrell is in talks to take on the lead role in the second season of HBO series True Detective. There’s also word that Taylor Kitsch is also among the leading candidates for the second male lead.

The first season of True Detective was absolute brilliant, and if you haven’t seen it, you really need too. It recently earned several Emmy nominations on Thursday, including lead actor nominations for both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, as well as a Best Drama nomination.

HBO CEO Richard Plepler and president Michael Lombardo recently said that the first two scripts for season two are “more exciting” than those of the first season. I have no idea what that means but I assume they are just trying to build buzz.

All we really know about the second season at this point came from the creator of the show who said:

“It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season one.”
