Cold Iron Studios, Aliens: Fireteam is a co-op survival shooter game that is set 23 years after the original Alien trilogy and it will be released this summer 2021 to Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. H.R. Giger critters are still a tremendous problem, and it’s up to the Colonial Marines to fight them.
Aliens: Fireteam teams of up to three players (or a single player with AI teammates) scour overrun buildings, deserted colonies, or alien landscapes, hunting and shooting 20 different types of enemies, from the iconic bugs to Weyland-Yutani Synthetics. The aliens come at the player’s fireteam from all sides, bursting into pools of acid when you kill them.
It is going to be James Cameron Aliens experience, Machine guns and flamethrowers, and team-based activities. Players choose from one of five classes—Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon—customize their characters, and then take on a range of repeatable campaigns. It’s the kind of game where you might have to endure waves of foes while waiting for an elevator to come get you. To keep things from getting stale, there’s a Challenge Card mechanic that changes each campaign mission with special modifiers, challenging players to do things like free an area using only headshots.
Aliens: Fireteam is coming to Xbox One, Xbox X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC this summer.
