However, things quickly spiral out of control as they encounter a series of unexpected obstacles that threaten to derail their plans.

The story for “Joy Ride” comes from the creative minds of Cherry Chevapravatdumrong, Teresa Hsiao, and Adele Lim. Chevapravatdumrong and Hsiao have teamed up to write the screenplay, while Lim will be directing the film. Together, they have crafted a hilarious and heartwarming tale of friendship, adventure, and self-discovery.

The cast of “Joy Ride” is led by a talented group of up-and-coming actors, including Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu. In the film, Park and Cola play Audrey and Lolo, two best friends who embark on a journey of a lifetime to find Audrey’s birth parent. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a group of K-POP stars who mistake Audrey and Lolo for fellow performers.

To give audiences a taste of what’s in store, Lionsgate has released a new red band trailer for “Joy Ride.” The trailer showcases the budding friendship between Audrey and Lolo, as well as some of the challenges they will face on their journey. Overall, “Joy Ride” promises to be a hilarious and heartfelt film that will appeal to audiences of all ages. So mark your calendars for July and get ready to hit the road with Audrey and Lolo on a journey that you won’t soon forget!

From the producers of Neighbors and the co-screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians, JOY RIDE stars Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu. The hilarious and unapologetically explicit story of identity and self-discovery centers on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Ashley Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of Lolo (Sherry Cola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Stephanie Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Sabrina Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.

Chevapravatdumrong, Hsiao, and Lim are also producing Joy Ride as well as Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Josh Fagen. Additional stars for the road trip craziness include Ronny Chieng, Desmond Chiam, Alexander Hodge, and Chris Pang. Joy Ride will hit theaters on July 7.
