Comic-Con: Game Of Thrones Cast

We round up all of the “Game of Thrones” goodness going on at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con!

Members of the immensely popular “Game of Thrones” TV show and series creator George R.R. Martin made a big appearance at the San Diego Comic Con.

Warning: if you’ve never watched “Thrones,” there are several spoilers in this posting, so be mindful.

The panel kicked off with an amusingly crafted “In Memoriam” video — complete with the song “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday” by Boyz II Men — that paid tribute to all of the characters, big and small, that have died during the show’s three-season run.

During the panel, the audience shot off a variety of questions at the various “Thrones” actors, which included Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Michelle Fairley, Peter Dinklage, Rose Leslie, Richard Madden, and John Bradley. Thankfully, the geek blog ThinkHero recorded the entire panel for your viewing pleasure, which you can watch below. You’ll learn about how the popular show almost had a different theme song, shoulder rubs between Tywin and Tyrion, lots of Red Wedding talk, and other funny musings.

A surprise appearance from Jason Moma (Khal Drogo) marked the funniest moment during the panel. While a fan was in the middle of voicing a question toward “Mother of Dragons” Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Moma randomly appeared and gave Clarke a big smooch. With the crowd cheering in response, Moma jokingly said, “I’m not dead yet, George!” and left the stage. Clarke, bewildered by the act of love, playfully recited her famous “sun and stars” nickname for the fallen warrior.

The audience also got an exclusive look at a deleted “Thrones” scene from season 3. Pycelle meets privately with Tywin Lannister, but it’s what Lannister is doing during that sequence that presumably threw the audience for a loop. Instead of acting like a cold, heartless dictator, Lannister was calmly fishing outside King’s Landing. Predictably, Lannister shows his true colors and tells the blabbering Pycelle to drop his sick act — watch what happens next.
