Dark Version of PINOCCHIO Movie Trailer from Italian Director Matteo Garrone is Here

There are several different feature movie versions of the classic Pinocchio in production right now. Here we also have a stop-motion movie coming from Guillermo del Toro, and Disney is producing their own live-action remake of the classic story. The other adaptation has sort of been off the news because it’s an Italian movie that comes from director Matteo Garrone (Tale of Tales, Gomorra).

Check out the first teaser trailer to share with you today for this upcoming film, and as you’ll see, this is going to be a very complex and dark take on Pinocchio. It looks awesome I really love the visual designs of the movie and the characters that will be a part of the movie.

The movie stars Italian actor Roberto Benigni in the role of Geppetto. This is the second Pinocchio film that he’s been a part of. In 2002, Benigni wrote, directed, and starred in his own Pinocchio movie. The movie also co-stars newcomer Federico Ielapi as Pinocchio.

Pinocchio will hit theaters in Italy on Christmas Day. There’s no release date for the U.S., but it looks awesome and solid movie and I’m eagerly waiting for it.
