Darth Vader Voice On Set Before James Earl Jones’ Voice Over

Darth Vader

The clip is from the documentary, “Empire of Dreams”.

In this behind-the-scenes video of Star Wars, we get to listen to the original voice of Darth Vader actor, David Prowse. Although his voice was never meant to be used in the final cut, it’s exciting that all the other actors on set heard Prowse’s voice read all of Vader’s lines when recording.

We all know the famous Vader voice-over would be done by James Earl Jones, can you think in some alternate universe where it’s Prowse’s voice used for Vader and not Jones’?
