The title of the Die Hard 6 was recently revealed by Empire Magazine. They have reported that Len Wiseman‘s script for the film has been turned in and that the title of it is simply… McClane.
It’s a simple yet effective title and I have no problems with it. We know that the story for the film will be set in 1979 when McClane was fighting crime as a New York City cop and in the present day. It will show how he “became a die-hard kind of guy.” Bruce Willis is set to reprise his role. The movie will also jump back and forth between the past and the present.
While talking to Empire, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked about the film and the title, saying:
“You can tell our intention by the fact that the title page we handed in says, ‘McCLANE’. We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before.”
When addressing the jumping between the two different eras of John McClane, di Bonaventura explained that each era will be explored equally:
“I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce. The idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”
