Disney’s Haunted Mansion New Teaser Trailer Released

Disney’s Haunted Mansion

Disney’s recent attempts to translate its theme park attractions into successful movie franchises have not always yielded the desired results. However, the first trailer for the upcoming film, Haunted Mansion, directed by Justin Simien, shows that the studio is still determined to make it work.

The new Haunted Mansion movie follows the story of a single mother named Gabbie, played by Rosario Dawson, and her son Travis, played by Chase Dillon, who move into an old mansion in Louisiana’s French Quarter. They soon discover that the mansion is infested with ghosts, and instead of leaving, Gabbie enlists the help of a group of spiritualists to rid the place of its supernatural inhabitants.

The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Tiffany Haddish as Harriet the psychic, Owen Wilson as the priest Kent, LaKeith Stanfield as the part-time tour guide Ben, and a host of other notable names like Jamie Lee Curtis, Danny DeVito, Dan Levy, Winona Ryder, and Hasan Minhaj.

What’s interesting about the trailer is how it presents the movie as slick and polished, rather than relying on cheesy gimmicks or overt silliness. The action-packed scenes between the living and the dead promise to be thrilling and entertaining, and it’s clear that the filmmakers have put a lot of effort into creating a compelling story that does justice to the iconic Haunted Mansion ride at Disney’s theme parks.

It remains to be seen whether Haunted Mansion will be a hit with audiences when it hits theaters on July 28th. Still, it’s encouraging to see that Disney is taking its theme park adaptations seriously and striving to create movies that can stand on their own as engaging and entertaining cinematic experiences.
