Disney has unveiled the first trailer for its classic holiday movie Home Alone remake. This new holiday adventure comedy is called Home Sweet Home Alone, and it’s pretty much the same movie as the original Home Alone complete with some of the precise same dialogue as the original movie.
In the movie, “Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensued, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home.”
It looks like a mediocre comedy at best, and it’s an unnecessary remake. I’m sure that younger audiences might love it, but it’s definitely not in the same league as the original movie. That first movie was excellent! I’m sure this remake will give some funny moments, but that’s it.
Home Sweet Home Alone stars Jo Jo Rabbit’s Archie Yates as Max, and Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell.
Home Sweet Home Alone is a Disney+ Day premiere, and you can watch it on November 12, 2021.
