DOCTOR WHO Atleast Got 5 More Seasons

Doctor Who

Steven Moffat has revealed brilliant news for Whovians. When talking to U.K.’s Radio Times (via: Variety), Moffat implied that the series will be around for at least five more seasons. The showrunner and executive producer said,

“I thought it would last 10 years. I didn’t think it would last 10 years with BBC Worldwide trying to get me in a room to talk about their plan for the next five years!”

He went on to clarify the statement above saying:

“It’s going to do a minimum of 15. I mean, it could do 26!”

So that’s fifteen total seasons of the recent series. We’ve basically been guaranteed Doctor Who sci-fi awesomeness through 2020! Maybe even beyond that if the BBC wants it. I guess it all depends on how the next five seasons turn out.

Moffat went on to say,

“Because it’s such an amazing format, because you can constantly revive it and re-imagine it, then as long as the people looking after it are passionate about it and the BBC is passionate about it, there’s absolutely no reason why it can’t do another 50 years.”
