Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian series project at Lucasfilm has been quiet for quite some time now. The most recent update came from Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy about a year ago, stating that they were still discussing the project with Glover.
During a recent interview with GQ, Glover spoke about reprising the role of Lando and expressed his interest in returning to the character. However, he emphasized that it needs to be the right project for him to commit to. He explained that time is precious, especially after the pandemic, and he does not want to waste his time on anything that he is not fully invested in.
Glover also shared his vision for the Lando project, describing it as “Frasier in space,” where the character travels to different planets and experiences different perspectives. He believes that it would be fun to write and hopes that the project will come to fruition.
When asked about the current status of the project, Glover revealed that talks are still ongoing and that’s all he can say without Kathleen Kennedy hunting him down. It’s unclear what the project will entail or when it will be released, but fans of Glover and Star Wars alike are eager to see what’s in store for Lando Calrissian.
