HBO Max has released the first trailer for its true crime drama Love & Death, and it stars Elizabeth Olsen as Candy Montgomery, a churchgoing suburban housewife who is having an affair, which takes her life into her becoming an axe-murdering killer.
The series is inspired by the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death in Silicon Prairie, Part I & II”). This series is based on a true story and you will love this if you like true crime stories! This one is a spellbinding yet tragic story, and it looks like Olsen gives a great performance.
“two church-going couples, enjoying small-town family life in Texas (or, at least they do until somebody picks up an axe). The series is based on the true story of Texas housewife Candy Montgomery, who murdered her friend from church, Betty Gore, with an axe in 1980.”
The limited series also stars Jesse Plemons as Allan Gore, Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, Krysten Ritter as Sherry Cleckler, Patrick Fugit as Pat Montgomery, Keir Gilchrist as Pastor Ron Adams, Elizabeth Marvel as Pastor Jackie Ponder, and Tom Pelphrey as Don Crowder.
Lionsgate will produce the limited series and will premiere with the first three episodes on HBO Max on April 27th.
