The Mother of Dragons is heading out to space now. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has joined the cast of Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm‘s Star Wars Story Han Solo movie. Alden Ehrenreich in the title role and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. Clarke’s character has not yet been revealed. It has also been confirmed that Chewbacca will also be a featured character in the film and, while unconfirmed, it is likely that The Force Awakens‘ Joonas Suotamo will reprise the role.
“Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away — and she’s going to meet Han and Chewie,” reads the official announcement. “…Clarke, known for her stirring portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”
Movie will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley. Slated for a May 25, 2018 release.
