Red Dead Redemption was a huge hit for Rockstar Games and it was a hit for a good reason, It was bloody Awesome. It was ahead of it’s time — well it was based in the wild west but technologically it was ahead of it’s time and game elements are still can be used as benchmarks and it was simply gorgeous to look at. Not just the base game was brilliant but it’s DLC’s The Legends and Killers, Liars and Cheats and Outlaws to the End was also fun to play and kept us engaged for days. Undead Nightmare which is currently not free at Xbox One was impeccable, It’s special burning and unicorn horses was a joy to ride and a challenge to tame and exploding bullets + the exploding zombies was a treat and downright terrifying.
Red Dead Redemption sold over 14 million copies in its lifetime. It’s also generally heralded as one of the greatest games of all time and it was one of the best games on the last gen consoles. Naturally, everyone is now waiting for a sequel and it looks as though Rockstar Games may be gearing up for a Red Dead Redemption revival on PS4 and Xbox One.

Serious rumours about a new Red Dead game have been circulating since before E3 2016. The game failed to show at the expo, as did it fail to show at Gamescom in Cologne and Sony’s PS4 Pro launch. Without a big event on the horizon, it looks likely that Rockstar will reveal the game on the studio’s own terms, much like it did for GTA V.
Videogamer points to Take-Two’s release calendar this year, and the absence of any Rockstar games from the list. This means a new Red Dead, or GTA for that matter, is very unlikely to turn up until after April 2016.
