EVIL DEAD RISE First Promo Teaser Revealed From Producers Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell

EVIL DEAD RISE

Warner Bros. has released the first promo teaser for the highly anticipated horror movie Evil Dead Rise and the new teaser gives us our first look at what we can expect from the horror flick. This is just a little taste of the movie and what is to come as the full trailer is set to drop tomorrow. The teaser sees a girl checking in on her mom who has been possessed by a Deadite.

Producer Bruce Campbell shared the trailer with the following note: “Let’s start the new year off right – here’s a little something special for you…#EvilDeadRise.” Campbell goes on to say in a video he shared:

“Even though I’m not in this film, as a producer, I’m all over it like a cheap suit. I guess you could say, I have a hand in it. Now, I’ve seen the movie in all of its glory, and, in case you’re wondering, yes, it is amazing, and yes, it is the scariest one yet.”

Well, I like the sound of that! In the fifth Evil Dead film, “a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.”

The movie was directed by Lee Cronin and was also produced by Sam Raimi. Raimi previously said that the movie will be “terrifying” and “knock people’s socks off.” Campbell also said that Evil Dead Rise is going to be a “much more excruciating” adventure from an emotional level, saying:

“This one’s dark, this one’s pretty serious. Good, strong performances. It’s a single mom who now has to deal with this book. These days it’s more about the book. That book gets around, that book is handed around, passed along, people try and get rid of it, they try to bury it or destroy it and they really can’t. So this book just keeps popping up, so really it’s just another story of what happens if this book appears in this particular group of people’s lives and how it intersects.”

The honor movie also stars Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davies (The End), and Nell Fisher (Splendid Isolation). Evil Dead Rise is programmed to hit theaters on April 21, 2023.
