HBO Max has unveiled its first full teaser for the upcoming The Last of Us TV show. The two-minute trailer shows a mix of scenes from the show, prominently featuring Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
The trailer starts with shots of Pascal walking through a settlement of survivors, set to a not too cinematic-trailery-chopped-and-screwed version of “Alone and Forsaken” by Hank Williams.
The trailer shows a few oblique glances of the infected without revealing too much, including the tasteful un-reveal of a super close-up on a Clicker’s face.

Pascal and Bella look amazing in their roles, and everything from the costuming to the sets manages to convey that weirdly relaxed, autumnal desolation of The Last of Us without falling into straight-up imitation.
Other highlights included the briefest of glimpses of Nick Offerman holding a shotgun, a delightful overhead shot of Joel and Ellie crossing a snow-covered bridge, and a few peeks of Joel and Ellie horseback riding like that unforgettable sequence from the video games.
