First Photos of Chris Pratt and Tom Holland’s Pixar Elf Film ONWARD

Pixar has revealed the first look at the upcoming animated film Onward, which stars the voices of Marvel stars Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer. We also have some details regarding the storyline of the movie.

Pratt and Holland play two elf brothers in the movie and according to writer and director Dan Scanlon, they “go out on an adventure to see if there’s a little magic left in that world.” Pratt’s character is described as the “boisterous older brother” to Holland’s “gawky, more reserved younger sibling.” They also have a pet dragon.

When talking about Holland’s character, the director said:

“Tom Holland is perfect for our character of Ian, the younger brother. We were looking for someone who could have this shy quality and someone who is good at being a little awkward. And Tom is great at that! And yet has a genuine sweetness to him that you really root for him.”

In regards to Pratt’s character:

“We wanted someone who was the exact opposite of that. Someone who could be wild and chaotic and out of control, but in a very charming and infectious way. And Chris Pratt is perfect for that. He has this ability to be both sort of wild and out of control but in a really lovable, fun, infectious way.”

Louis-Dreyfus will voice the mom of the two little heroes.

Onward will hit theaters on March 6, 2020.
