First World Of Warcraft Casting Rumors

First World Of Warcraft Casting Rumors

Deadline has named a whole slew of people whom they say are be up for roles in Duncan Jones‘ World of Warcraft adaptation. Colin Farrell. Anton Yelchin. And one actress who’s transcended my not really caring about a World of Warcraft movie and made me sit up and pay attention.

That would be Paula Patton, who’s reportedly “in advanced negotiations” for a lead role in the movie, which is just called Warcraft. It’s rumored that Farrell’s been offered another lead, though Deadline’s anonymous sources say it’s only 50/50 that he’ll accept. Other actors whose names popped up are Anton Yelchin (Star Trek, Charlie Bartlett), Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine, Ruby Sparks), Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels), and Travis Fimmel (Vikings).

Take these rumors with a grain of salt, as there’s been absolutely no news from anyone resembling an official source.

But who will the main characters be? Are we looking at humans? Dwarves? Night elves? Will someone be purple? Will Warcraft even really be a recognizable World of Warcraft movie, or are we just looking at a high fantasy epic with the WoW name tacked on for maximum brand recognition? What will this movie even be like?
