FOX Ordered an Exorcist TV Series Pilot

THE EXORCIST Being Adapted into a TV Series

FOX is moving forward with plans for a television series based on William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist. According to a story today at The Hollywood Reporter, FOX has ordered an Exorcist tv series pilot that still has Jeremy Slater attached to script. I just hope they won’t be puking the green nasty stuff this time around.

The Exorcist was published in 1971, inspired by alleged true stories of demonic possession. The story follows Regan, a 12 year old girl, who is taken over by an ultimate evil. The Exorcist was famously brought to the screen in 1973 with a feature film helmed by William Friedkin. I

t remains widely regarded as one of the scariest films of all time and went on to spawn a feature film franchise. Exorcist II: The Heretic followed in 1977, The Exorcist III in 1990, Exorcist: The Beginning in 2004 and Dominion: A Prequel to the Exorcist in 2005.
