Showtime revealed the first full trailer for its upcoming two-part 2016 election drama The Comey Rule. The show is an adaptation of former FBI director James Comey’s book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership.

The story develops around Russia’s participation and alleged manipulation of the election process, as well as the probe into Trump’s presidency after evidence led to collusion between his campaign and Russia.

The trailer features Brendan Gleeson as Donald Trump and Jeff Daniels as James Comey face off with each other. The series also stars Holly Hunter as former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, Michael Kelly as former FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Jennifer Ehle as Patrice Comey, Jonathan Banks as former National Intelligence Director James Clapper, Kingsley Ben-Adir as President Obama, and Peter Coyote as Robert Mueller.

Jeff Daniels and Brendan Gleeson star as former FBI Director James Comey and President Donald J. Trump in this two-part event series that tells the story of two powerful men, whose strikingly different ethics and loyalties put them on a collision course.

The Comey Rule airs on Showtime on September 27, 2020.
