With 2015 drawing to a close, I’m sure we all can’t help but wonder what new technology the next year will bring us. This year we saw an abundance of 3D-printers, hands free scooters and even the Apple Watch. It’s exciting to think that if we had amazing technology this year, what more in 2016? So I’ve rounded up some of the rumored gadgets we should see in 2016.
If you’re looking for a device that elevates 3D technology then there’s Fuel3D Scanner. While there are already 3D scanners in the market, this is a handheld device at a fraction of the cost. For just under $1000 you can scan your subject and transfer the data to your computer in 3D quality. That simple! Imagine how helpful this technology is for animators and graphic designers. At a touch of a button, you can now replicate realistic subjects into your 3D work.
Another exciting innovation in technology are wearable gadgets. We’ve had existing wearable gadgets such as the Google Glass but in 2016, Sony pushes the boundaries for virtual reality. They are set to release Project Morpheus, a goggle-type wearable device PlayStation gamers can use. Gone are the days when LCD screens need to be used to play games. Now, Sony has included OLED screen with a 1920×1080 resolution providing excellent graphics to users.
Now this article would not be complete without a report on next year’s mobile phone rumors. I’m sure we’ve seen it all but in 2016, Samsung promises to bring a foldable phone and no, this isn’t your 80’s flip-phone. Its codename is Project Valley and it promises a foldable and bendable display. This could be perfect for those who want a large display but would still like it to fit inside their pockets. According to Business Insider, “Samsung is said to be testing the device in two versions: one that’s powered by a Snapdragon 620 processor made by Qualcomm and another that runs on the chip maker’s faster Snapdragon 820 processor.”
Another smartphone everyone is excited to see next year is Apple’s iPhone 7. The iPhone 6s was just release last September but already, people are buzzing about what’s new to come in 2016 for the gadget that has become the smartphone to beat. According to Food World News, “Some of the latest rumored iPhone 7 specs is that the smartphone will be removed of a headphone jack and a home button. It’s also expected to carry the company’s next A10 chipset, along with a new design, waterproof capabilities, better display and a longer battery life.”
Now that we have an idea of what’s to come in 2016, we can get excited for the new technology and ready our pockets as well because for sure it will be a year filled with innovations and new technology. Don’t forget! Once you’ve purchased these new gadgets, make sure to invest in gadget insurance so that it won’t cost an arm and a leg to replace.
