GAME OF THRONES Prequel Series Director and Full Cast Revealed

Some huge news is been revealed for HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series that’s being developed by George R.R. Martin and Jane Goldman.

The full cast has been revealed by EW, and they’ve also announced that SJ Clarkson was selected to direct the pilot episode. She has served on some projects that include The Defenders, Orange Is the New Black, Jessica Jones, Dexter, and Bates Motel.

As for the cast, they’ve put together a very distinct group of actors. It was already announced that Naomi Watts would be playing “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.” Then there’s Josh Whitehouse, who is talking on a lead role as well.

As for the rest of the cast, there are no details on who they will be playing, but here’s who the cast consists of:

Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX), Denise Gough (People Places and Things and Angels In America), Jamie Campbell Bower (The Twilight Saga, Sweeney Todd), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans, Netflix’s Black Mirror), Georgie Henley (Lucy from Disney’s Narnia films), Alex Sharp (How to Talk to Girls at Parties), and Toby Regbo (Reign, Netflix’s The Last Kingdom, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald).

The upcoming TV series is officially described as:

“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”

When previously talking about the Game of Thrones prequel series explaining that Westeros is going to be “a very different place.” He also added:

“There’s no King’s Landing. There’s no Iron Throne. There are no Targaryens — Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built. We’re dealing with a different and older world and hopefully that will be part of the fun of the series.”

The untitled Game of Thrones prequel is set to air on HBO in 2020.
